Our Continental Development Team is complete. After the announcement of the five U19 riders who will race for the team in 2023, the 16 names for next year have been finalized. This includes another six riders that were recruited from outside. We introduce two riders to you:
One of them is Björn Bakker, who is having a successful season with victories in the Ronde van de Vijver, District Championship North, Oldenzaal and Roden. He will thereby become road captain for all the young talent of the team, which is a good fit for the experienced driver. He comes over from NWVG and has already raced for sports director Ton Welling in his year with Vlasman (2020).
Also Chiel Schulten, who, despite a forced break, still managed to finish ninth in the final standings of the club competition. A third place in the Zuiderzee Ronde was the basis for this and with a fifteenth place in the Ronde van Overijssel, Chiel showed to be ready for this level of competition. He comes over from Sensa Kanjers for Kanjers.
In addition to these new riders, Brent Clé, Mark Prinsen, Paul Gruithuijzen, Quint van der Leeuw and Sjors Handgraaf will transfer from the Scorpions Endurance Team to the Continental team. In addition to the regular road race schedule, they will remain available for the Endurance Team.
