Last week Wessel Mouris took the first victory for Scorpions Racing Team at UCI level. After an 8th place in the team time trial, he won the second stage of the Carpathian Couriers Race in Poland. As a result, Wessel started the third stage in the leader's jersey. Unfortunately, despite the teamwork, he was unable to keep this after a stage full of attacks from other teams. Still, short results have been achieved in the last two stages, in which Niek Voogt finished third in a final where Wessel was taken back 100 meters before the finish line.
In the last tough stage, which was seen as the Queen's stage, Wessel was able to ride with the best and managed to finish fourth. This made him fifth in the overall standings. Behind Wessel and Niek it was Hugo Kars in particular who did a lot of work for them to achieve these results. Despite the early exit of Nathan Szekely and Jasper Huitema (due to a crash) it was a really good week of racing with excellent results.
